Review

This review applies to version 2.2 The latest version of this software will soon be reviewed by our informers.

Battlefield 2142 is the fourth game of the Battlefield saga developed by Digital Illusions CE and distributed by Electronic Arts Inc. This game belongs to the FPS (First Person Shooter) category in which weapons are used, in this case, futuristic weapons.
The game“s plot takes us to the year 2142, and we can contemplate the arising of a new glaciation which will sow panic around the globe. The small area of land, which is by now not buried under the ice, is not big enough to produce food for all the inhabitants of the earth. Thus, some will survive, but most will die.

Following the outline of the saga, two teams are placed on a battlefield with certain objectives to be met in order to prevail on the opposing team.
The game has a single player mode, but its true potential is exploited in the multiplayer game, with up to 64 simultaneous players, and rewards systems based on experience. The sound section of this game maintains, as always in the saga, a very high level. Both the soundtrack, and all the special effects, voices, explosions of different kind and a long list of sound effects have a high quality that only can be described as outstanding.
Advantages
  • Quite fluid online gaming experience.
Disadvantages
  • Few maps in general.
